Beyond Pondicherry and beyond Auroville, is a mysterious granite hillock. Located about 45 mins away, at the foot of the hill are the abandoned remains of a Chola temple, in the Angkorian style, where foliage and nature has taken over. In front of it is the imposing bare face of the hill, with rough cut steps hewn into the rock. Your expert guide will lead the way as the carved steps lead onto an ancient pathway and steps that lead to the top. At the top is a living Shiva temple with a priest. All around you are magnificent 360 degree views of the region with an eagle eye’s view. It’s a beautiful place to usher in the sunset.
