CHASING THE CHOLAS Beyond Pondicherry and beyond Auroville, is a mysterious granite hillock. Located about 45 mins away, at the foot of the hill are the abandoned remains of a Chola temple, in the Angkorian style, where foliage and nature has taken over. In front of it is the imposing bare face of the hill, with rough cut steps hewn into the rock. Your expert guide will lead the way as the carved steps lead onto an ancient pathway and steps that lead to the top. At the top is a living Shiva temple with a priest. All around you are magnificent 360 degree views of the region with an eagle eye’s view. It’s a beautiful place to usher in the sunset. AUROVILLE E-BIKE TOUR The best time to visit Auroville is the morning, before the crowds come, even before Aurovillians get to work! And no better way to experience this amazing community than on a trusty e-bike. Our Facilitator will first teach you how to use an e-bike, first learn to use an e-bike, and then set-off down tranquil red-gravel roads, littered with dried leaves, shaded by lush planted forest. Get off-road and navigate through little used paths deep inside the community visiting areas inaccessible by day visitors.
